Terms and Conditions

Booking

Pawtree ask for walks to be booked in as far in advance as possible. We mostly work on a monthly basis but are able to cater for weekly bookings (where availability allows). Additional walks can also be requested through the month.

A ‘meet & greet’ appointment is compulsory for any new dogs joining Pawtree Dog Walking. This is to ensure all the information can be given & received & an initial assessment can be made to ensure dogs can be placed in the right walking environment.

Keys

The owner will provide Pawtree Dog Walking with a key, a code for the key safe or a safe place for a key to be left if they are not going to be present on pick up & drop off.

When with Pawtree, the key is kept in a lock box & labelled with just the dogs name to protect client information.

 Heath Care

It is the owners responsibility to ensure that their dog is up to date with vaccinations & flea & worming treatment whilst they are booked in for walks with Pawtree.

Vaccinations should be updated on a yearly basis & flea & worming will be in accordance to the medications guidelines depending on which product they have & veterinary advice.

Kennel Cough is a live vaccination & therefore a dog becomes contagious after receiving it.

After receiving a kennel cough vaccination we will be unable to work your dog in a group for 2 weeks to reduce risk of spreading to any of the other dogs in our care. Notice will be needed in accordance with our cancellation policy (below) solo walks can be requested but availability for these are not guaranteed.

Identification

It is the owners responsibility to ensure that their dog has all the relevant identification needed to comply to the law.

In accordance to the Control of Dogs Order 1992 a dog must have an identification tag whilst out in public, including the owners surname & address (house number & post code) the phone number isn’t required but is highly recommended.

On 6th April 2016 it also become a legal requirement for dogs to be microchipped by the age of 8 weeks which contains the details of the owner (or the breeder if chipped prior to rehoming).

 Accident/Injury and Illness

In the event that your dog falls ill or has an accident during a walk with Pawtree, we will endeavour to contact you immediately. We advise you provide additional contact information where possible.

In the event where we are unable to contact you, we reserve the right to seek medical assistance in an emergency/where we see fit- at all times acting with the dog best interests.

Any veterinary costs incurred are the responsibility of the owner.

The owner agrees to notify Pawtree Dog Walking immediately of any infectious and/or contagious disease or conditions their dog has been exposed to or is affected by. Such diseases and conditions include, but are not limited to: Distemper, Hepatitis, Kennel Cough (Bordetella), Parvovirus, Corona virus, worms, Lyme disease, Fleas, Pregnancy, Infectious Skin Diseases and parasitic infestation ie fleas &/or worms

Clients & Dog Information

It is essential that all the information we obtain from you is accurate & true.

The owner is to make full disclosure of any behavioural or characteristic issues which may effect their dogs walks with Pawtree, including aggression towards other dogs or people, destructive behaviour, concerns travelling in a vehicle etc.

It is the owner’s responsibility to inform Pawtree Dog Walking immediately of any behavioural changes.

Payment policy

Invoices will be sent out approximately 5 days prior to the date payment is due. Payment will be due on the last day of the month (or the Friday prior to this date if the last day of the month falls on a weekend or bank holiday, with exception of a Thursday if it falls on Good Friday). This payment will cover the walks for the following month.

Any additional walks booked after this payment will be invoiced separately around the time of booking, and payment to be made by the payment date provided.

Late payments will incur a late payment fee of £2.50 per day if a payment is more than 2 days over due. This will be charged until the invoice is paid in full. Owners will be responsible for paying these charges in addition to the total amount on the invoice. If the owner fails to do so, the late fee will be added onto the next month’s invoice.

A payment reminder will be sent to any owners who have outstanding invoices on the day the payment is due.

If the late payment exceeds 14 days, walks for that client will be stopped until the total amount of the invoice, including late payment fees, are paid in full. The full amount of the invoice will be due despite any walks cancelled due to late payments, and the late payment fee will still be applied daily until payment has been made in full.

Cancellation Policy

Any Changes/cancellations to walks must be communicated by the date detailed in the invoice email.

If changes or cancellations need to be made after this date, a weeks notice must be given for a credit or replacement walk to be offered.

Clients who request a cancellation with less than a week and up to 48 hours notice prior to the booking, will be offered a replacement walk (within the same month, where availability allows), no replacement walk or credit can be offered for cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice.

A credit or replacement walk will be offered for any cancellation made by Pawtree Dog Walking regardless of the notice period.

Pictures/Videos

The owner consents to photos & videos to be taken of their dog whilst under the care of Pawtree Dog Walking. These, with consent, will be used for marketing & social media. To ensure ‘doggy safe guarding’ I do not share the names of the dogs or tag the place of walking.

All such media remain the property of Pawtree Dog Walking.

Any posts made are not at the time of the walks to ensure best protection of the dogs.

Damage

The owner accepts liability for any loss or damages caused by their dog whilst out on a walk with Pawtree.

Pawtree is not held accountable for any veterinary fees or third party claims whilst your dog is in our care.

Termination of walks

If an owner wants to terminate their dog’s walks with Pawtree, a month’s notice must be given.

If the owner does not require our service for that month, a cost of 50% will be due, based on the previous months invoice.
